Investigation into health care in Trapani, order for Sparaco canceled
The precautionary measure applied to the Asp executive Antonio Sparaco, regarding the accusation of having influenced his appointment as director “in substitution” of the Global Health Unit of the Asp of Trapani, has been annulled by the judges of the Cassation. The appointment he allegedly received unlawfully, according to the prosecution, from the then medical director Gioacchino Oddo. As for three other points of the prosecution’s allegations, the Cassation has ordered a referral to the Palermo Review Tribunal for a new evaluation. Sparaco had his house arrest revoked by the Palermo Review judges on December 30th and a ban from public office for ten months was imposed. The appeal against the Palermo Review Tribunal’s order filed by the legal team of the health executive Antonio Sparaco was partly accepted by the Cassation.
