Partinico grants house arrest to Borgo Parrini creator

The Palermo Court of Review has granted house arrest to Giuseppe Gaglio, who was arrested last month on charges of corruption for paying bribes in a “system” that revolved around the Nido d’argento cooperative in Partinico (Palermo). Gaglio, the creator of Borgo Parrini, a well-known fraction of Partinico that resembles Gaudi’s creations, was the head of the cooperative that had expanded its interests throughout half of Sicily. The judges then revoked house arrest for two employees of Nido d’argento, Francesco Chiavello and Giuseppe Chiaramonte, who still have a residence obligation in Partinico. The three had chosen not to respond to Judge Elisabetta Stampacchia after being arrested.
