Wounded dog in Palermo hit with picks is out of danger: “Honey standing, improving”

Explain the following article in short:
After the horror and fear, the news everyone was waiting for: Honey is out of danger. The dog found dying in a dumpster in the Cruillas neighborhood of Palermo on Monday, April 22, is recovering well. He has responded well to the care of the veterinarians he was entrusted to by a volunteer and he is even able to stand. The latest update from Valeria Galletti almost speaks of a miracle, considering the small dog had arrived at the clinic in desperate conditions, with holes in his head.
As the doctors determined, he had been hit with a pickaxe: someone had delivered two sharp blows, then put him in a bag and abandoned him. On the day of the discovery, among the garbage bags, he was bleeding, then he went into a coma. Hopes were hanging by a thread, but the love and care the dog received achieved the desired result. “Further X-rays were taken – explained the volunteer – the little one has a fracture in his right hind leg and will be checked by an orthopedic surgeon”.
“I will update you on the progress he makes: we are the beautiful world. We only hope to celebrate at his discharge – Valeria writes again. Life and goodness have triumphed over evil this time and I thank everyone for the great collaboration for Honey and his unfortunate friends. Anyone who cares about them can donate to his fundraiser”. A real solidarity race that many have contributed to supporting medical treatment: the fundraiser has surpassed eight thousand euros in just a few days.
