Waste emergency in Palermo: sidewalks filled with trash in Messina Marine Road.

Explain briefly the following article:

Via Messina Marine and Via Galletti invaded by garbage in Palermo: the bins are overflowing with rubbish and some large items surround the bins. The sidewalks are impassable and pedestrians are forced to zigzag, while some drivers stop and throw away their waste outside of the designated times, further worsening an already alarming situation.

“We have garbage in front of our homes – a citizen, who preferred to remain anonymous, attacks – do we have to go back to months ago when some neighbors couldn’t get out of their garages with their vehicles due to the piles?”. A bus stop on Via Galletti is also overrun: the line 224 of Amat passes through there, connecting the central station to Pomara. Users are therefore forced to wait for the bus surrounded by weeds and abandoned rubbish.

“Here it’s a continuous dumping ground – a resident in the area denounces – every day we find new piles and people continue to abandon everything. Rap won’t come every day – he continues – but it’s not just their fault. We ask for more attention”.
