Uil demands justice for Mico Geraci’s murder in Caccamo 25 years ago
Mico Geraci was a person who wanted to change things in a small town like Caccamo, where changing things was dangerous. With great human and professional commitment, he gave his life to defend workers’ rights and expose mafia infiltration. He was 44 years old when he was brutally shot in front of his son Giovanni on October 8, 1998 in Caccamo. The perpetrator is still unknown, and for this reason, they continue to demand justice. On the 25th anniversary of the union leader’s death, Luisella Lionti, Uil Sicilia secretary, will participate in a debate organized at the Regional Assembly on October 8th. They will discuss the importance of fighting against the mafia and promoting legality through education in schools, involving young people and their families.
