Trapani to host Day of Remembrance against Mafia in March 2025

The XXX Day of Memory and Commitment in memory of the innocent victims of the mafia, promoted by Libera and Avviso Pubblico, will take place on March 21, 2025 in Trapani. The Day is officially recognized by the State, through law no. 20 of March 8, 2017. On Thursday, March 20, there will be a gathering with the families of the innocent victims of the mafia and a vigil in their memory. On Friday, there will be a national procession and thematic seminars.

“Trapani and Sicily – explain the organizers – are places plundered by criminal force, but capable of alternative paths, which we will illuminate within a period that will lead us from November 2024 to March 21, 2025, and will give strength for further territorial engagement after the event. We will walk, as we do every year, alongside the families of the innocent victims, to support their demands for justice and truth and to renew collective memory and our commitment to the common good. We will continue to demand full transparency on the many massacres in Italy that are still waiting for the full and verified truth to be written. Through the path that will lead us to March 21 and the outcomes that the Day will produce, we will address the issues that today make the province of Trapani and all of Sicily a fiefdom for mafia crime, deviant freemasonry, and systemic corruption. We will do this together with thousands of citizens and hundreds of social realities. We will do this by creating spaces for dialogue and the protagonism of the many positive realities that daily build spaces that respond to the principles of the Constitution.”
