Tennis Club Palermo loses in final, Casale is Italian champion

The dream of the Palermo Tennis Circle’s girls to win the Serie A1 championship as absolute rookies has come to an end. The team, led by Alessandro Chimirri, was defeated 3-1 by Canottieri Casale Monferrato, who confirmed their status as Italian champions. The Palermo team lost their first game of the season, surrendering the first two singles matches. However, they managed to regain some hope with a win from Marina Bassols Ribera, but ultimately, the decisive point was achieved by Canottieri Casale. Despite the loss, the president of Ct Palermo, Giorgio Lo Cascio, praised the girls’ journey, emphasizing their focus on nurturing young talent. The final results were Palermo Tennis Circle-Canottieri Casale 1-3, with the decisive point coming from a victory by Lisa Pigato and Deborah Chiesa.
