Teen found dead in Messina, homeowner under investigation
The prosecutor Liliana Todaro, as reported today (June 4) by the Gazzetta del Sud, has placed the owner of the house where Michele Lanfranchi, 19, was found dead on Saturday evening in Messina on the street in front of the apartment under investigation, with the charge of murder. The 40-year-old Giovanni Laganà is also being investigated for his own protection in the future stages of the investigation.
The prosecutor’s office and the mobile team in Messina are still investigating in all directions and yesterday they questioned Laganà, as well as a number of people who witnessed the tragedy. Witnesses reported that Lanfranchi was showing the gun he had recently purchased and which, according to him, was supposed to be used to seek revenge on someone. At one point, while in the apartment, the gun Lanfranchi was holding accidentally went off, hitting him in the neck. There is currently no request for precautionary measures against Laganà; for him, as for other witnesses, a ballistic examination has been conducted, the results of which will be crucial.
After the incident, Lanfranchi was allegedly carried outside and transferred to the street, Michelangelo Rizzo, a small side street in the Giostra district. Investigators are suspicious of the fact that his body was found outside with the gun in hand, as if to create a staged scene.
