Serie D schedule released: Trapani and Akragas face off in first derby

The Interregional Department has announced the schedules for the nine groups of Serie D 2023/2024. The 18-team groups, including Group I, which features ten teams from Sicily, will start their season on September 10th and conclude the regular season on May 5th, 2024. Group I may be expanded to 19 teams with the addition of Reggina, which could be readmitted after losing promotion to Serie B. The first round will feature three Sicilian derbies, including a highly anticipated match between Trapani and Ragusa. Trapani is considered one of the favorites to win the championship. Other notable matches include Akragas vs. Licata and Canicattì vs. Siracusa. The coaches of the competing teams have expressed their thoughts and expectations for the upcoming season.
