Primo David, inventor of Villarosa museum train, dies. Witnessed Bologna massacre.

Primo David, the historic station master of Villarosa and inventor of the museum train in 1995, has passed away at the age of 68. His idea brought numerous tourists and school groups to the town in the province of Enna and garnered the interest of television networks around the world. Primo David was also a witness to the massacre at the Bologna train station in 1980.

The announcement of his death was made by the Museum Train of Villarosa itself, describing him as a father, a friend, a good man, and a true pioneer in the field of railway culture and history. They invited others to join in honoring his life and contributions, with a memorial event scheduled for the following day at the museum train station.

Primo David chose to create the museum train using carriages from a train previously used by Nazis to deport Jews from Rome to Trieste.
