Porto Empedocle, malore per il comandante del traghetto Sansovino: la nave torna indietro

Minutes of fear last night (Tuesday, May 7) on the Sansovino ferry that had sailed a few hours earlier from the pier of Porto Empedocle to head towards Lampedusa. The captain fell ill and it was decided to turn back and dock again at the pier in the province of Agrigento. The ferry had sailed at 11 pm and was supposed to arrive this morning (Wednesday, May 8), too many hours of navigation and so, considering the captain’s illness, it was decided to return.

The emergency number 118 was immediately called and an ambulance was ready at the pier of Porto Empedocle. The medical staff assisted the captain, provided first aid, and immediately transferred him to the emergency room of the San Giovanni di Dio hospital where he is currently hospitalized.

Inconveniences for the passengers who had to wait many hours before resuming their journey to Lampedusa.
