Palermo Labor Court confirms suspension of Isola delle Femmine police chief

The commander of the municipal police of Isola delle Femmine, Antonio Croce, has been suspended from his position. The Palermo labor court upheld the decision taken by the disciplinary proceedings office of the Municipality following an investigation in which the former head of the police force was involved. Croce’s appeal for reinstatement was rejected as the court deemed his suspension to be legitimate. He is accused of fraud and embezzlement based on an investigation by the Palermo Prosecutor’s Office, including absenteeism and improper use of a service vehicle to collect excessive fees for managing parking spaces. Although the judge revoked his suspension from the role of commander due to some allegations being unsubstantiated, the embezzlement charge still stands. The court found the reasons for Croce’s suspension, as determined by the municipality’s general secretary, to be valid.
