The new northern zone of the industrial area in Caltanissetta has been inaugurated. After the renovation works on the facilities in Calderaro district, Edy Tamajo, the regional councilor for productive activities, cut the ribbon alongside the commissioner of Irsap, Marcello Gualdani, and the institute’s director, Gaetano Collura. The works, carried out by Irsap, were funded with 3 million euros from the FSC 2014-2020 funds and were executed by Pacos Srl company from Naro. The interventions involved the recovery and refunctionalization of the road infrastructure and existing facilities, as well as the overall renovation of the northern area of the former industrial craft zone. The road superstructure has been reconstructed, sidewalks re-done, lighting fixtures upgraded to solar lights and LED lamps, fiber optics network installed, sewage system intervened, and road signs redone. Tamajo states that the works have allowed the recovery of an industrial area serving the local entrepreneurs and improving working conditions for companies, thus providing tangible support to the economic and social fabric of Sicily.
