Man threatens and assaults ex-girlfriend in Catania, arrested
After harassing her for months until she ended the relationship, the ex-boyfriend attacked her and attempted to cut her hair with scissors, causing a wound to her temple that required medical attention in the hospital with numerous stitches.
This was the latest violence that a 22-year-old woman was forced to endure in Catania from her ex-boyfriend, who was under house arrest and was arrested by the Carabinieri of the provincial command of Catania.
The victim’s sister asked for help from the police. She recounted the heavy phone threats received minutes before from the ex-boyfriend, who had announced that he wanted to cut her throat and head, as well as those of her family. The 22-year-old is accused of domestic violence and aggravated personal injury, and he has also been reported for evasion.
He had been welcomed into the young woman’s home even during a period when he was under house arrest for drugs, but the girl, exhausted, had “sent him back” to his mother’s house without being able to avoid him controlling her through social media and even forcing her to continuously share her location with him on her phone. The 22-year-old had then asked the victim to meet him near the cemetery. There, he would make her get into his car, forcing her to go to his house for the last cigarette and last kiss.
On the steps of the house, the 22-year-old then pulled out a pair of large scissors and attacked the victim. Realizing that blood was coming out of the wound, he stopped a motorcyclist and ordered him to take the girl to the emergency room. The judge validated his arrest and issued a detention order in prison.
