Mafia boss tormented wife from jail, arrested upon release
The Carabinieri arrested Nunzio Zuccaro, a 62-year-old mafioso with a history of two murders, kidnapping, hiding a cadaver, mafia association, and robbery, in Catania for domestic violence against his ex-wife. The arrest was requested and obtained by the Catania prosecutor’s office following an investigation by the Carabinieri. The woman reported the abuse, which started in 2019 when Zuccaro was still in prison. Despite the fear of his threats, she stayed with him after he was released. Zuccaro continued his abusive behavior, including spitting on her in public and beating her with a cane. The violence escalated to the point where she had to flee to her sisters’ house, but Zuccaro threatened her to come back. Eventually, the judge ordered him to be held in custody in prison.
