Fundraising campaign launched for a stair lift for Andrea in San Giovanni La Punta
Explain in short the following article:
“A stairlift for Andrea” is the title of the fundraising campaign activated by the Habitat Human Foundation using the crowdfunding method on the GoFundMe platform. Andrea, a former employee of the petrochemical plant in Priolo, residing on the third floor of a building in San Giovanni La Punta, in the province of Catania, is the head of a family of 6 people (including 3 minors) who, at the age of 39, discovered he was suffering from severe progressive multiple sclerosis last December. The Foundation promotes the so-called Human Habitat Design, a multidimensional approach for environmental health protection, care, and home comfort for vulnerable individuals and families with disabilities. The Foundation has activated various tools to help Andrea and his family navigate through bureaucratic processes, provide moral support, and reorganize their daily lives and living environment. The goal is to provide practical assistance to overcome the physical and emotional barriers faced by Andrea due to his deteriorating health. The Foundation, in collaboration with various specialists and researchers, aims to make a difference and eliminate differences. Andrea and his wife Raffaella express gratitude for the support received in medical and bureaucratic matters, as well as the assistance in obtaining disability benefits for essential expenses such as medications, specific foods, and daily living costs for their family. They are also thankful for the campaign to raise funds for a stairlift.
