Fire in a house in Licata caused by a boiler, elderly man saved.

Yesterday evening in Licata, there was a lot of fear due to a fire that broke out in an apartment on Via Cacici, a side street of Corso Umberto. According to initial reports, around 9 p.m., a fire started in a residence where an elderly person was living. The neighbors noticed the smoke and flames and immediately raised the alarm. The fire department arrived quickly, with some firefighters entering the apartment to rescue the owner while others used fire hoses to extinguish the flames. The emergency medical service (118) also arrived on the scene and provided assistance to the pensioner, who was then transported to the San Giacomo d’Altopasso hospital as a precaution. The man had inhaled smoke, but his condition is not a cause for concern. The carabinieri (Italian military police) also arrived at the scene and are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Preliminary indications suggest that it may have been caused by a malfunctioning boiler.
