Fear in Villagrazia di Carini, fire in a building: warehouse destroyed

Moments of fear in Villagrazia di Carini for a fire that broke out in the middle of the night in a building. The flames spread within minutes in a three-story building on Via Cristoforo Colombo. The structure is uninhabited, but an area used as a storage for wooden crates for fruit was destroyed. Their presence inevitably fueled the fire, which was brought under control by several teams of firefighters who arrived on the scene. The alarm was raised by residents in the area, as a large cloud of black smoke invaded the street. The area was closed to traffic to allow the firefighters to intervene safely, and the Carabinieri also arrived at the scene of the fire. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the flames.

Just a few evenings ago, another fire required the intervention of the teams from the provincial command of Palermo in Via Galletti. In this case, the fire was caused by a short circuit of some cables connected to a streetlight pole. This event led the police to discover not only the theft of electricity, but also the presence of a drug greenhouse. The agents found about five hundred plants inside the structure where there were heat pumps, fertilizers, water systems, and everything necessary to grow the plants. Investigations are ongoing to identify the “cultivators” of the plantation.
