Fake carabiniere tricks in Marsala: first he removes the husband, then steals money and jewelry from the wife.
The scam of the fake carabinieri hit Marsala. The case was reported by an elderly married couple. It all started with a phone call to the husband’s house. “Your car was used for a theft in a city in the North,” the professional was told by a fake carabiniere. “My car is parked under the house,” he replied. “Then go immediately to the carabinieri of your city to clarify the misunderstanding,” was the advice given. In this way, the wife remained alone at home, to whom, shortly after the husband left the house, another phone call arrived. In this case too, a fake carabiniere told her that her son, who for work reasons lives in a city in Northern Italy, had been involved in a road accident and his car insurance had expired. And for this he would face legal consequences. A few minutes later, another member of the gang appeared at the elderly woman’s door, claiming to be a delegate from a law firm who had to collect a sum of money that would be needed to avoid legal action. As a result, after entering the house, the criminal had the safe opened and took money and valuables from it.
