Death of Uiltucs Secretary Michelangelo Mazzola after battles for “invisible” students in Caltanissetta school cafeterias

After a long illness, Michelangelo Mazzola, secretary of the Uiltucs of Caltanissetta-Enna-Agrigento, passed away today (April 27). In a joint statement, the general secretary of Uil Sicilia, Luisella Lionti, and the regional secretary of Uil with jurisdiction in Caltanissetta, Salvatore Guttilla, expressed their condolences to Mazzola’s wife Anna and children Giulia and Giuseppe. They praised Mazzola for his passionate and loyal union service, even when his physical strength was failing. They also acknowledged his contributions to the union’s fight for workers’ rights in various sectors. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 29 at 3:30 PM in the Cathedral of Caltanissetta.
