Catania man evades house arrest, recognized by police while walking and caught in Viale Rapisardi

In Catania, the carabinieri of the mobile unit arrested a 41-year-old foreign national, who was a repeat offender, for evading house arrest. The attention of a patrol was drawn to a man walking cautiously on Mario Rapisardi Avenue at 6 in the morning. The carabinieri recognized him as someone under house arrest. The man, aware of the presence of the carabinieri, tried to act normal, but the officers stopped him to prevent any escape attempt. It was confirmed that he was indeed the foreign national who was supposed to be under house arrest at his home in the Canalicchio neighborhood. He had been on house arrest for a few days for property crimes and did not have permission to leave his residence. The judge validated the arrest and ordered him to be detained at home again.
