Carabinieri in Lercara Friddi arrest two for receiving stolen cars

The carabinieri of Lercara Friddi, together with their colleagues from the stations of Vicari and Godrano, have arrested two individuals, a 32-year-old man from Palermo for the crimes of receiving stolen goods and resisting a public official, and a 22-year-old for receiving stolen goods. According to the reconstruction provided, after a call received at the operations center of Lercara Friddi for a stolen car passing by on state road 121, the carabinieri tracked down the vehicle, which was intercepted in a service area parking lot. The driver, upon seeing the military personnel, despite being ordered to stop, attempted to flee but was caught after a brief chase and arrested for receiving stolen goods and resisting a public official. The car he was using was stolen a few days earlier in Palermo. At the same time, within the same service area, the carabinieri noticed another vehicle parked there that, upon inspection, was also recently stolen. After conducting searches, including using the surveillance systems of the commercial establishment, the carabinieri were able to identify the twenty-two-year-old, who was then arrested for receiving stolen goods.
