Building explodes in Mussomeli, woman in critical condition

An explosion occurred in a building in Mussomeli, in the province of Caltanissetta, shortly after 9am this morning. A woman was severely burned and was transferred by helicopter to the burn center at Civico Hospital in Palermo. The woman herself called emergency services. Firefighters, carabinieri, and rescuers are on the scene. It is not yet clear what caused the explosion.
