Arson fire at night destroys ten-meter boat on Filicudi
The tranquil Filicudi was disrupted in the night by an arson attack on a 10-meter boat owned by a nautical rental company. The wooden boat, named Aurora, belonging to Stefano Cappadona, was destroyed by the fire, along with its 150-horsepower engine. The incident occurred near the seaside village of Pecorini, causing moments of fear due to the high flames that could have spread to nearby vegetation causing further damage. The island lacks fire stations, so some locals tried to help but were unable to do much. The damages are estimated to be over 60,000 euros, and the carabinieri have initiated an investigation.
