Algerian man stabbed in Piazza Manin, Vittoria – arrest made

Violence in Piazza Manin in Vittoria: during a brawl, a man was stabbed. He is a thirty-four year old Algerian who was targeted by a group of Maghrebians who caused chaos in the central area of the town. Some residents in the area alerted the police about the screams coming from the street. The police arrived on the scene and were able to apprehend three of the individuals involved, two Tunisians aged thirty-four and thirty-one, and another Algerian aged thirty-one.

Other men involved in the brawl fled when they saw the police and are still being sought. Meanwhile, paramedics arrived at Piazza Manin to assist the injured man. He was taken to the emergency room and is reportedly in stable condition. According to investigators, the victim was attacked by the thirty-four year old Tunisian who has been arrested, while the other two men have been reported but are free.

This is the second brawl in Vittoria within twenty-four hours: on Sunday, April 14, violence erupted in Piazza del Popolo. In this case as well, some foreigners first engaged in a heated argument and then began fighting. Residents in the area called the police and those involved in the brawl quickly fled, making it difficult to track them down. Investigations are ongoing into this incident as well, with surveillance camera footage being analyzed for important details to identify the perpetrators. There is also a possibility that the two cases are connected.
