Alarm this morning in the Giuseppe Cirincione school in Bagheria. Some children in a class complained of nausea and skin redness. The school staff requested the intervention of the health personnel from 118 who arrived with doctors and nurses. Meanwhile, the pediatric emergency rooms in the city were also alerted. “Fortunately – explain the health workers – it was not serious. In fact, eight students had skin redness. They had participated in a workshop and all said they had touched an old book. Perhaps some mites. The fact is that we provided first aid and then they were entrusted to their parents. It served as an exercise.” A hectic morning at the institute on via Diego D’Amico. “According to the first call made to 118, the students who were feeling unwell were 40 – says the mayor Filippo Tripoli – That’s why the protocol was activated, which includes alerting the emergency services. Then the second call with the 118 doctor informed us that the cases were limited to less than 10. The children were isolated from the rest of the class. They no longer had any symptoms and were entrusted to their parents after asking if they wanted to take them to the hospital.” One student was taken to the pediatrician who prescribed an antihistamine.
