High Italian pastry in New York: the work of an entrepreneur from Baucina who left Sicily at 19
Realmuto Alta Pasticceria Italiana is an Italian and Sicilian excellence spot in New York, located in the heart of West Village. It offers a restaurant, café, gelato shop, and hot table, and it is the brainchild of entrepreneur and restaurateur Francesco Realmuto. The project features high-quality pastry led by Sicilian pastry chef Giuseppe Zito, who brings a contemporary touch to traditional techniques. The menu includes classic Italian breakfast items like croissants, cannoli, donuts, and cakes, as well as lunch and dinner options such as lemon risotto and caciocavallo, herb tart, and eggplant Parmigiana. The concept aims to celebrate Italian culinary excellence and hospitality, inspired by the Italian lifestyle of the 70s and 80s. The space, designed by architect Deborah Mariotti, features Italian marble and wood decor. Francesco Realmuto also owns a Mexican restaurant in Rockefeller Center, and he plans to expand the realm of Realmuto Alta Pasticceria in the future.
