5 assailants rob a courier carrying cigarettes in Palermo: get away with 12 thousand euros.
Assault on a courier transporting cigarettes in Palermo. It happened this morning in Piazza Torrelunga in Palermo. According to a initial reconstruction, five people would have surrounded a truck driver, who had just parked the van on the corner between Corso dei Mille and Via Diaz, and stolen several packs of cigarettes that were supposed to be distributed in tobacco shops.
The truck driver alerted the police. On the scene arrived the patrol officers of the general prevention office and the Brancaccio police station. The robbers had already fled. The police officers listened to the man’s testimony, who would have stated that he was surprised from behind by a man and then the other accomplices arrived in a car. The loot amounts to about 12 thousand euros.
The officers performed all necessary investigations and acquired the images from the surveillance cameras installed in the area.
