40-year-old sentenced to life imprisonment for three murders committed in Lentini and Carlentini

The Court of Assize of Syracuse sentenced Adriano Rossitto, 40 years old, from Lentini, to life imprisonment for three murders. The defendant, owner of a funeral agency, was found guilty of the deaths of Lucia Marino, 56 years old, and Francesca Oliva, 80 years old, daughter and mother, found dead within a few days of each other in July 2021, in Lentini. The first was found in her home, the eighty-year-old wrapped in plastic film inside a coffin in a garage. While in prison, in July 2022, the carabinieri notified Rossitto of an additional precautionary measure in prison for the murder of Francesco Di Pietro, a retired banker, found dead in August 2019 in contrada Ciricò di Carlentini inside a body bag. From the analysis of the investigative activities against Rossitto, serious evidence emerged, especially due to discrepancies in his statements, according to the reconstruction of the public prosecution which also focused on the findings made by the Ris. Rossitto has always denied the accusations. The judicial proceedings have never clarified the reasons why Rossitto would have killed his victims.
