Zia Rosina celebrates record-breaking 102nd birthday with carabinieri in Favignana.

Rosa Giangrasso, known as Aunt Rosina, is the oldest person in the Egadi Islands and a reference point for the inhabitants of Favignana at 102 years old. She lives alone and the local carabinieri visit her often to check on her well-being. Last year, they celebrated her birthday with her when her relatives couldn’t reach her due to bad weather. For her 102nd birthday, they brought her a cake and a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Aunt Rosina was happy and smiling, and a photo was taken to immortalize the moment with her uniformed “angels.”
