Two young referees, one aged 21 and one just 15, were assaulted on football fields in the province of Palermo. They were attacked by the parents of the boys playing on the field. Last Sunday (April 14) in the match between Conca d’Oro Monreale and Sporting Cefalù, played in Piana degli Albanesi for the Giovanissimi provincial under 15 category, the referee was hit from behind with a slap by a man. The other incident occurred on March 31 in Caccamo, at the end of the Allievi under 17 match between Supergiovane Castelbuono and Sport center Torracchio (Termini Imerese). The referee was assaulted by a parent. An ambulance and a patrol of the carabinieri intervened, who reported the man for personal injuries. The referee ended up in the hospital, first in Termini Imerese and then at Cervello in Palermo, after being hit with a flurry of punches to the head.
