In Palermo, tram line 3 was blocked by a woman threatening to set herself on fire. The incident occurred this morning around 10 am in the Cep district: the Amat transport vehicle, almost at the end of the line, found its path blocked by a blue Fiat Punto parked on the rails. But according to some witnesses, this was not just a case of incivility. Inside the car was a desperate woman, upset about her son’s drug addiction: probably overwhelmed and dejected, she chose to protest by blocking the tram and threatening to take extreme action. Passengers on the tram were afraid and immediately alerted authorities. The carabinieri intervened at the scene.
