Vittoria bids farewell to lawyer Giovanni Scarso, 88 years old, knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and commander. A prominent figure in the politics of Ragusa in the past and a respected professional in the world of law. Scarso was a city councilor in the 1970s at the Municipality of Vittoria and commissioner of the Province of Ragusa from May 2012 to December 2013.

He graduated in Law from the University of Palermo in 1962, married and father of two children, he directed, as the winner of a competition, the Acate reclamation consortium for 27 years and was a member of the board of directors of the health company 22 of Vittoria. A member of the second instance tax commission of Ragusa since 1976, he has been a member of the Regional Tax Commission of Palermo since its establishment. In 2009, he was appointed member of the Central Tax Commission, Palermo section. From 1998 to 2007, he also held the position of vice honorary prosecutor at the Ragusa court.
