Violent outburst in Palermo: kicks and punches to two municipal officers on Via dei Chiavettieri
Two municipal police officers in Palermo were attacked last night on Via dei Chiavettieri. They were sent to the area by the operations room to check on the dozens of young people who gather there late at night. As soon as they arrived, one of the officers was hit in the face with a bottle and they were both kicked and punched by a group of young people. When reinforcements were called, everyone fled. The investigation to identify the attackers is ongoing. The secretary of the local Csa Cisal expressed that it is no longer tolerable for colleagues to be victims of such violence and called for measures to protect officers and prevent these incidents from happening too frequently. The two officers were taken to the hospital with prognosis of 10 and 6 days.
