Video on Denise Pipitone on social media, young man from Mazara acquitted after being accused by Piera Maggio.

In breve, il public prosecutor at the Court of Marsala, Sara Quittino, ordered the dismissal of a young man who had been reported for the crime of defamation by Piera Maggio, the mother of Denise Pipitone, a 4-year-old girl who disappeared in Mazara del Vallo on September 1, 2004. The decision was made today (March 14). The protagonist of the story is a 23-year-old man from Mazara, assisted by lawyer Ornella Cialona. In 2021, the young man had posted a video on TikTok titled “How much does Denise Pipitone earn”. The video was considered defamatory by Piera Maggio, who filed a complaint. The author of the images, after a series of investigations, was traced, and admitted to posting it, emphasizing that the intention of the document (which was considered sarcastic as the young man had pants on his head) was to denounce individuals who post videos on social media mentioning newsworthy figures in order to gain more views. The young man later apologized to Piera Maggio. The judge’s decision to dismiss the case was also influenced by the syndrome with which the twenty-three-year-old man is afflicted. This syndrome causes “difficulties in relationships due to an insufficient understanding of one’s own and others’ mental states and representations”.
