Valerio Scanu marries a Sicilian: he is an engineer from Castelvetrano

Valerio Scanu, the 33-year-old Italian singer who won the 2010 Sanremo Festival, will be marrying his partner Luigi Calcara on September 7th in a civil ceremony in Rome. Calcara, a 32-year-old electronic engineering graduate from Castelvetrano, Sicily, had proposed to Scanu last November on his father’s birthday. The couple met three years ago on Instagram when Calcara commented on one of Scanu’s photos, and their relationship grew from there. The wedding reception will be held in a private location in Rome, with both brothers of the couple serving as witnesses along with their best friends.
