Truck driver loses control of Tir on Messina-Catania highway: injured and hospitalized

Today afternoon (10th May), a heavy vehicle carrying ferrous materials went off the road on the Catania-Messina motorway. The accident occurred at km 55+200, on the Fiumefreddo-Giarre stretch, heading towards Catania. The driver of the truck, for reasons still under investigation, lost control of the vehicle, blocking both the driving lane and the emergency lane. The firefighters from the Riposto detachment intervened on the scene. The driver, slightly injured, was taken to the Giarre hospital by the 118 emergency service personnel. The traffic police were also present.
