Trenitalia introduces new direct route Agrigento-Palermo airport

Trenitalia has launched a new direct service connecting Agrigento Centrale with Palermo airport, operating four new services daily. The initiative aims to meet the growing demand for tourist mobility to the city of Agrigento and also to cater to the needs of commuters. The trains will not pass through Palermo Centrale but will directly access the railway line, with stops at a number of intermediate stations. The schedule has been optimized to increase mobility to and from the metropolitan area of Palermo, with specific consideration for university students and hospital access. The new service is part of Trenitalia’s national winter season plan, featuring new and modern trains and increased intermodality. Departure times from Agrigento Centrale to Palermo Airport are at 5:50 am and 10:50 am, with arrival times at 8:17 am and 1:23 pm, respectively. Departures from Palermo Airport to Agrigento Centrale are at 1:40 pm and 5:40 pm, with arrival times at 4:14 pm and 8:12 pm, respectively.
