Trapani mother offered homemade cookies for breakfast: drugs inside

A 17-year-old from San Vito lo Capo, in the Trapani area, was arrested for drug possession with intent to sell after preparing drug-laced cookies and offering them to his mother, who fell ill. The Carabinieri intervened at the Sant’Antonio hospital in Trapani where a woman arrived feeling unwell after ingesting cookies made by her son. It was discovered that the boy had offered his mother the “specialty” for breakfast in the morning. She ate two cookies and shortly after experienced such pain that she was admitted to the hospital, where it was found that the cookies contained drugs. During a search, the authorities found two packages of hashish totaling 750 grams, 40 doses of ketamine (weighing 16 grams), 220 grams of marijuana, over two thousand euros in cash, and various bags of freshly baked “stupefying cookies”. Following a hearing, the boy was placed in a rehab community as an alternative measure.
