Traffic paralyzed after a funeral car and a van collide on Messina-Catania highway

An accident occurred on the A18 Messina-Catania highway, heading towards Catania. A van and a hearse were involved in the collision at kilometer 63+800. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the traffic experienced significant delays while waiting for law enforcement to arrive and remove the vehicles from the roadway. The Sicilian motorway consortium, Cas, reported that there were traffic jams for over two kilometers towards Catania, between Giarre and Acireale. Ambulances from the 118 emergency service were dispatched as a precaution, and traffic police officers were present to manage the flow of vehicles. Investigation is currently underway to accurately determine the cause of the accident.
