Tommaso Palumbo appointed as new police chief of Agrigento, former director of immigration services.

Tommaso Palumbo has been appointed as the new police chief of Agrigento, Italy. He was promoted from his previous position as a senior executive to become the chief. Palumbo previously served as the director of the first division of the immigration department in Rome. He will replace the current police chief, Emanuele Ricifari, who has been promoted to a higher position in the Ministry of the Interior in Rome. Palumbo’s main challenge will be dealing with immigration issues and the continuous arrival of migrants in Lampedusa. His previous experience in the immigration department makes him well-suited for this role.
