The mayors of the eight municipalities in the minor islands of Sicily have expressed their concerns regarding the seizure of Caronte & Tourist ships, which is causing a crisis in the life and economy of their territories. In a joint statement addressed to national and regional institutional bodies, they highlight the difficult situation that has emerged in the Sicilian islands, which rely on ship transportation for essential supplies and to support the local economy. They call for immediate solutions to restore vital naval connections and ensure the normal functioning of the communities. The mayors have also appealed to the President of the Republic and relevant ministers for urgent intervention.
