The prototype of Lancia in Palermo: “Fully electrified cars by 2028”
In 2028, Lancia plans to have fully electrified vehicles, projecting its brand into the future and initiating a new renaissance for the Italian automaker. The Pu+Ra HPE prototype is the flagship of this relaunch, being showcased for the first time in Sicily by Nuova Sicilauto dealership in Palermo. Lancia aims to focus on design, sustainability, technology, and electrification for the next 10 years. The concept car boasts over 700 kilometers of autonomy, energy consumption below 10 kilowatts per hundred kilometers, and approximately 15 minutes of charging time. The vehicle’s elegant design and luxury interior, crafted in collaboration with Italian design company Cassina, highlight the use of velvet upholstery to evoke the brand’s past glory. The car features a fully touch-panel interface that grants access to various services, including the Tailored Predictive Experience artificial intelligence, capable of anticipating and enhancing the driver and passenger’s well-being. Although the Pu+Ra HPE is only a prototype and not for sale, its technological advancements demonstrate Lancia’s commitment to electrification. The automaker plans to release the new Ypsilon in 2024, followed by the Gamma and Delta, with the goal of fully electrified vehicles by 2028. The vehicle incorporates new technology materials, such as steel, glass resin, composite resin, and Alcantara, preserving Lancia’s image as an elite car brand in Italy.
