The vice president of the Region and regional agricultural counselor, Luca Sammartino, expressed his solidarity with the Cooperativa “Rosario Livatino – Libera Terra” following the deliberate fire that affected the confiscated mafia-owned wheat fields. The cooperative has always been a stronghold of legality and a concrete example of how the seed of work and healthy enterprise can be planted where illegality once thrived, allowing the state and society to regain control over portions of the territory. Sammartino plans to visit Naro to meet with the cooperative’s leaders, who are inspired by the figure of Blessed Rosario Livatino.
