Tamajo’s announcement: “Europe approves the rule for contributions to support new hires”

” In a few days, the European Commission will give the green light to the provision included in the Stability Law of the Sicilian Region, which provides grants to employers to support the cost of new hires.”

This was stated by the assessor of Productive Activities of the Sicilian Region, Edy Tamajo, during a conference held yesterday, Friday, April 19, at the Moak headquarters in the industrial area of Modica – Pozzallo entitled: Zes unica, investments and development for the territory. The meeting, promoted by the Cna of Ragusa, saw the presence of former mayor of Modica and deputy of the Ars Ignazio Abbate, the director general of the department for Productive Activities of the Sicilian Region, Carmelo Frittitta, and the commissioner Irsap Marcello Gualdani.

“The provision provides for a grant of 10,000 euros per year, which is increased to 13,500 euros for the hiring of women. The measure provides for an allocation of 50 million euros for each of the years from 2024 to 2026 and is part of the general strategy of the new programming 2021/2027 which has as its main recipients non-employed people, in the logic of favoring the work integration of a wider possible audience by contributing to the reduction of labor costs incurred by those companies that make permanent hires and maintain them over time, also favoring the transformation of existing fixed-term contracts or the permanent hiring of young people who are undergoing an internship in the company – Tamajo continues -. A measure strongly supported by the friend and colleague Ignazio Abbate and the entire Schifani government.”

“This provision represents a turning point in the relationship between entrepreneurship, politics, and trade associations. In fact, it injects liquidity into companies by incentivizing employment in the Island. These benefits have also been extended to micro-enterprises, professionals, and those who start production units in 2024. With this provision, we give meaning to the commitment to support employment and the growth of Sicily,” says former mayor of Modica Ignazio Abbate.
