Siremar ship incident causes more trouble in Aeolian Islands

After the recent incident of the ship Laurana, another breakdown occurred on a Siremar ship in the Aeolian Islands, causing protests from the passengers on board, including a pregnant woman. The malfunction happened in the middle of the night on the Antonello da Messina ship, which had departed from Milazzo and was heading to Vulcano and Lipari. Despite rough seas, the journey from Milazzo to Vulcano was smooth. However, upon reaching Vulcano, the ship experienced a breakdown, causing frustration among the passengers. The Coast Guard and pilots were informed, and assistance was provided by a patrol boat and a smaller boat. The damaged ship continued its journey to Lipari at a reduced speed, arriving 90 minutes late at the dock in Sottomonastero. The planned exceptional trip to Panarea and Stromboli was suspended, leaving the residents without transportation for several days. However, the islands were still accessible by the high-speed boats of Liberty Lines. The Laurana, as scheduled, carried out a special trip to the isolated islands of Alicudi and Filicudi, which were also reached by the fast vessels.
