Sicily says no to violence against women with cuts, concerts, parades and talks

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Sicily is taking a strong stand against violence. Various events and initiatives are being organized in cities such as Palermo, Catania, Cefalù, Messina, Giarre and Scicli to raise awareness and promote dialogue on the issue of gender-based violence. The President of the Sicilian Regional Assembly and other prominent figures will be participating in these events. Additionally, symbolic gestures such as the illumination of buildings in red and the distribution of red gerbera flowers are being used to convey the message of solidarity and support for the cause. The President of Italy has also emphasized the need for a deep cultural change in order to address and eradicate this societal problem. The events in Sicily underline the importance of collective effort and collaboration among all segments of society, including institutions, associations, businesses, schools, and individuals, to confront this issue and work towards creating a more just and equitable environment for women.
