Sicilian regional court investigates canceled forestry competition

The Court of Auditors in Palermo has opened an investigation into the competition for 46 forest rangers that was annulled due to suspected irregularities. The unofficial ranking had Alessio Maria Salerno, the son of former forestry manager Giovanni Salerno, at the top. Giovanni Salerno appointed the examination committee before retiring. An inspection by a specific college appointed by the president of the Region resulted in the suspension of the competition. The competition cost 800 thousand euros and there is a risk of losing this money as there is no precedent for the refund of a competition not completed by Formez, the organization responsible for it.
