Seven migrant landings in one hour in Lampedusa, another 338 arrive

Seven landings, with a total of 338 migrants, in the span of an hour, at Lampedusa. The small boats, all departing from Sfax in Tunisia, with a minimum of 40 people to a maximum of 64 on board, were rescued by the coast guard patrol boats Cp 306 and Cp319. The migrants declared to be originally from Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Guinea, Chad, Burkina Faso, Liberia, and Niger. They are all being transferred to the Imbriacola hotspot where there were already 945 guests, including 103 unaccompanied minors. Now, among the first reception facilities, the total number of occupants will rise to 1,283.
