Raids in Vucciria and nightlife venues in Palermo, fines totaling over 24,000 euros
The article describes ongoing checks in the city center and in peripheral neighborhoods, connected to the guidelines of the “integrated territory control” and “territorial surveillance control” models. These checks focus on sensitive areas identified based on crime trends to prevent social alarm phenomena. During the week, strict controls were carried out in the Vucciria area, resulting in the identification of 50 people, 11 of whom had criminal records, as well as the checking of 23 vehicles, 2 motorcycles, and the issuance of 11 traffic violations. Additionally, 5 business premises were inspected.
In the historical center, patrols were increased to enhance police visibility. In the Albergheria district, a police patrol conducted a territorial control leading to the discovery and seizure of a dose of hashish. Integrated control services in the area identified 109 people, 27 of whom had police records, and resulted in 8 individuals under house arrest, the checking of 58 vehicles, and the issuance of 9 traffic fines, as well as the seizure of 2 vehicles. A driver was reported for special surveillance measures.
Administratively, inspections in three premises found violations, resulting in fines totaling over 24,000 euros. Near the central train station, a young man was found with a knife, leading to his denouncement. The area around the station saw the identification of 216 people, 38 with criminal records, and 81 vehicles checked, resulting in 20 traffic fines and 2 seizures.
